- 4 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 package (17.3 oz) store-bought puff pastry, thawed
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well coated. Set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut out circles about 4 inches in diameter.
- Place a generous spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry circle.
- Fold each pastry over into a half-moon shape and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and an egg wash for a shiny finish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Let cool slightly before serving.
