Description

Experience the comforting flavors of this savory Meat and Potato Pie, featuring a flaky crust and a deliciously spiced filling that warms the heart on chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14 oz) puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a pie dish.
  3. Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onions until soft, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  6. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 10-12 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  7. Combine mashed potatoes with the meat mixture; stir in thyme, sage, cloves, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  8. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and cover with another sheet of puff pastry.
  9. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape and brush with an egg wash for a golden finish.
  10. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
