Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups icing sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking tray with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat the eggs with melted butter and milk until smooth. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined without overmixing.
- Bake Your Traybake: Pour the batter into the prepared tray and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool Down: Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about ten minutes before transferring it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Ice That Cake: For icing, mix icing sugar with a splash of milk until smooth and drizzle over your cooled cake. Add festive decorations if desired.
