Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup butternut squash, peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup Italian sausage, crumbled (or substitute ground turkey)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh sage leaves, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
- Toss the cubed butternut squash with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for about 20 minutes until tender and caramelized.
- In a skillet over medium heat, crumble in the sausage and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to about 12 inches wide. Transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread a thin layer of olive oil over the crust. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese across the surface.
- Add roasted butternut squash cubes and cooked sausage on top before finishing with remaining cheese and fresh sage leaves.
- Slide your assembled pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serve hot!
