Description
Celebrate Halloween with these delightful Jack-O’-Lantern Popcorn Balls, a sweet and salty treat that adds festive flair to any spooky gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- Orange food coloring (a few drops)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn kernels using an air popper or stovetop method. For stovetop, heat a pot over medium heat, add kernels, cover with a lid, and shake occasionally until popping slows.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Once smooth, incorporate several drops of orange food coloring until the desired shade is achieved. Mix well.
- Pour the popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn while stirring gently to coat evenly.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly until manageable but still warm. Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray before shaping handfuls into balls about the size of tennis balls.
- Place each ball on wax paper or parchment paper to cool completely before serving. Optionally, use chocolate chips as eyes for your jack-o’-lanterns!
