Instructions
- For the Crust: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add cubed butter and blend until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough forms.
- Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- For the Filling: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss sliced pears with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes to release juices.
- Assembling the Pie: Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to fit your pie pan.
- Place rolled dough in pie pan and fill with pear mixture. Pour any accumulated juices over the top.
- Create a lattice or cover with another layer of crust; cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cooling & Serving: Allow pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
