Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the beef chuck roast. Rub it with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear all sides of the roast until browned (approximately 4 minutes per side).
- In a bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until slightly thick yet pourable.
- Place the seared roast in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, ensuring it's well covered.
- Set your slow cooker on low for about 8 hours or high for about 4 hours until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked through, shred the beef using two forks inside the slow cooker. Mix to coat in sauce before serving on plates or buns.
