  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together eggs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and whole milk until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients while stirring gently until fully combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  6. In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt dark chocolate with heavy cream until smooth and glossy.
  7. Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the ganache on top, followed by fresh raspberries.
  8. Top with the second cake layer and drizzle remaining ganache over it. Serve with additional raspberries if desired.
